The Grief We Inherit

Coaching Clients Through Intergenerational Grief

A live 75-minute session with Dr. Lisa Connors, PhD, LCPC, NCC, BCC, FT

Grief does not always begin with us. The stories, losses, beliefs, and experiences of previous generations can influence how clients understand, express, and navigate grief today. In this webinar, grief coaches will explore intergenerational grief through a coaching lens and learn how to support clients in recognizing inherited narratives, honoring their histories, and creating meaning from the grief they carry.

Participants will explore a coaching framework for working with generational grief themes and gain practical tools for guiding conversations with curiosity, compassion, care, and cultural responsiveness.

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Understand intergenerational grief from a grief coaching perspective
  • Recognize how family stories, beliefs, and generational experiences may influence a client’s grief journey
  • Use coaching tools to support clients in exploring meaning, resilience, and the stories they choose to carry forward
